Welcome to Quayside my town by the seaside!

WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

The Sewing Patch mark 2 and lots of witches hats!

Well from thinking nothing was going in Dollyland this week it seems I was wrong! I guess inspiration comes when you least expect it!

First up are some lovely witches hats I won on Ebay. The lovely seller Kate had 3 lots for sale and I was lucky enough to win 2 of them. She even added to few extras and some hat boxes which was so nice of her!! I have a few of Kats hats but this little lot will fill my shop to the brim. So much so I ended up completely emptying the shop altogether.

I took out the spiral stairs more on that later. I also stripped the wallpaper so I can redo that with nicer stuff and also add some stripwood shelving. I also took out the pantry and am undecided whether to put that back in yet as it takes up valuable room.

Also arriving in the village is a little girl I bought cheap on Ebay. I just thought she was cute and had a sweet face. She even had flip flop painted shoes so I thought she would be nice on the beach scene.

I was also been inspired to do start on work the Barn. I had thought about doing a school but it wasn't really floating my boat. I was talking to my friend Audrey and she said about a spiral staircase which got me thinking about moving the one from the witches house. It was nice in there but was quite hidden so wasn't so much of a feature. I decided I would move it into the Barn and show it off better.

I had to stain the wooden floor to match but it fitted really well it was just the right height! I added a mezzanine level using some dowel and a piece of ply covered with wood effect lino. It needs some kind of balustrade or railing but not decided what yet.

I used all the items from the old Sewing Patch but its nice to spread it all out so you can see it better.

I got a couple of cheap patchwork quilts from Ebay to roll up as completed ones for sale.

My good friend Deb sent me the green chair and its perfect in there.

You can really see everything so much better including the stairs!

The best part is the stunning quilt on the wall. Made by Deb its one of my most favourite minis ever. Its so beautiful and sometimes I feel sad its not on a bed, but up on the wall it really is the centre piece of the whole shop, I just love it!!

The stairs really do stand out in here so much better which will please Lindsay as they took him days to make and will never be repeated lol!

The upstairs work room is a little empty and needs lots more details to fill it up!

So a no ideas week turned into a full of ideas week lol!! What to do next???????
