WELCOME TO QUAYSIDE MY TOWN BY THE SEASIDE

Thank you for visiting my blog and thanks even more if you decide to follow :-) I really do enjoying doing it and love to share my projects with you all! In the village at last count I had 18 houses, 14 little roombox size shops, 3 half houses, and 1 half church (half being just a front!) there's also 1 quarter of a house (just half of a front lol) 2 market stalls, 3 market carts and beach huts on the beach although theres always seems to be room for just one more!

I also have a my 1st house a traditional Victorian manor which is very special as it was bought with money left to me by my beloved Nan. There's also my witches house and a witches shop. I also have a lovely Honeychurch house which is my Christmas shop and house and my latest venture a little vintage cottage. But the bulk of my property empire is Quayside, my little Cornish seaside village full of lovely individual cottages and all its wonderful residents. This has become a real labour of love and has turned me from a Dolls house fan into a complete and utter addict! The links below will take you to each of my houses and I especially hope you enjoy your visit to Quayside :-)

New villagers and a new house!!

Its been another busy weekend although this one was unexpected! We had decided not to go up to the caravan and then suddenly at 8.30 Friday evening we thought oh why not threw some things in a bag and off we went! I had all sorts of things planned for Dollyland but they will get done another time...hopefully tomorrow!!

First up today is a couple of new friends for the village! This is Bert  a lovely old man to run the sweet shop. I asked Bernadette to make  me a Mary Poppins Bert style doll.

He is just the part and has a lovely kind face all he needs now is a an apron maybe! He's been running the sweet shop for years and people come back year after year for his home made fudge!!

My shop units arrived from Maple Street. Lovely items but sadly they missed something off my order so not sure if it was out of stock or just not put in the box. I emailed them to explain and it was refunded but an email back wouldn't have gone a miss just to let me know what was going on!

They are all barewood at the moment as I plan to paint each one in a different pastel shade so it looks like a real candy box of colours...that was my planned job at the weekend!

Also new to the village is Kelly. She runs the handbag stall. This is a new stall and has no stock yet shes just waiting for the delivery so she can fill it all up.

Her friend John has arrived to help but hes a bit early as theres nothing to do yet!

Today I received this lovely little table for the pub from my friend Carol. Its perfect so much so I think I will take the bench one out and use that somewhere else! It needs some nice rustic chairs to go with so will be on the lookout for those!

I cut all the coins of the bracelet I got from Ebay. They are perfect for pirates treasure as they are metal and feel just like real coins they are fab! I need some jewels and more gold things to fill it up so its overflowing with treasure!!

The WI ladies have their new wall unit up. They now have somewhere to keep their cups.

There's one with everyones name on so no confusion!

On Friday I decided to have a move around! I wish I didn't get these ideas as it is such a huge pain to move them as all the lights need connected back up afterwards!

The reason for moving was to get the pub somewhere were I could get to it a bit easier. I love it and have so much more to do with it and where it was on the end was not ideal.

I had a move about more than once and mostly they ended up back where they started! Butterfly moved along to the the end and Wishes and dishes moved up next to it. Then is the Sugar Shack and the village hall. The pub now sits at the back which its much easier to access.

Its much better here and I can't wait to have a play with it!

Next I moved the B & B into the corner. As its a little smaller it works well and looks like a real cosy place to stay tucked away in the corner of the village.

As the pub is now here it wasn't as big as the house that was there before so there was enough space to make a nice little area outside.

The larger house was then moved to the other end of the village where the flats were. I have reused the B & B garden area for outside. It needs a washing line though as I just love them!

So the flats have moved, will get to that next! Now theres a nice big space on my table to work and to maybe fit in just one more new property!! Lots of ideas already for that one!

Ok are you still with me??????

Back to the flats! I was having serious new house syndrome! I didn't have an ounce of space anywhere so I decided that if the 2 witches houses could be moved it give me a bit more room to play with! I did move them to the next hallway along but I didn't like that so I ended up moving the Manor house back upstairs and the witches into the front room where it was. Its worked really well so I am pleased with that decision so far!

This left the window sill in Dollyland now empty! I actually hadn't realised just how much the big witches houses blocked out the light. I think maybe cos of the dark winter days I hadn't really noticed but as soon as I moved them I was like wow daylight lol!!!

Luckily the sill is very deep, we have very thick walls!! The flats work really well on there because they aren't so deep. They sit against the side and let all the light in. Perfect! Well almost it just needs something to go the other side. :-)

Julie had a really sweet little house for sale called Cockleshell cottage but it was quite small inside so I hadn't really thought anything of it, plus I had no room! After making space I went back for another look and at only 10 by 10 inches its actually just the right size to sit opposite the flats without blocking the light too! I am so happy and can't believe I have a new house on its way!! I really thought there was no chance at getting another one in!!

I have no idea what to do with it yet! I will wait til it arrives for inspiration. A house or a shop hmmm what a lovely decision to have to make!! I love how its different again from all my others yet it will slot right in.

I also have a head full of ideas for a new cottage so its going to be a busy fews months in Dollyland!

 I do LOVE  my village!!!

  1. I love your village to and never get tired of looking at it, every time I look I find something new to drool over, so jealous of you room, how you managed to fit another house in beats me, soon you will need higher shelves for the houses on the hill x

  2. Bert looks just the part and Kelly, I'm sure, is going to make a success of the handbag shop! I love her afghan coat (I used to have one too way back when!)

I don't think we're every going to believe you when you say "no more houses". You always seem to find a way to squeeze just one more in! You're right to be pleased with your village, it just gets better and better.
